A garage sale staple!

I am not a fan of garage sales.

I am friends with a lovely group of ladies that are FANS. So, with some apprehension, I host a garage sale with them in the hopes of making a few bucks and having a LOT of laughs. We do this in May, when we are still enjoying the sun and before we start complaining about the heat and the mosquitos. (that is only about a two week window here in Illinois) To make the event a bit more festive I make delicious Sour Cherry Basil Mojitos. I have to give Martha Stewart props for this recipe. It is delicious.

If there are any leftover cherries I freeze them and use them for ice cubes for future drinks.

I suggest you soak the cherries two days before you serve. Please be aware that the cherries are potent! Keep the kiddies away!
