Feeling Very Patriotic

On this most reflective day I find myself thinking about my daughter. Fifteen years ago I was pregnant and as we all sat glued to our televisions with hearts breaking and not knowing what the future would hold, I couldn't help but think about this world I was bringing a child into. As Bella and I drove to school today, we talked about her freshman class and how they are the first generation of post 9/11. We talked about what amazing things they have all done so far in their lifetime and I can only be inspired by, and see that even on a day of sadness, there is hope.

In light of all the controversy about should he or shouldn't he stand, I choose to stand. Here is my favorite version of the National Anthem, sung by the Barrington Children's Choir and my sweet daughter at a Chicago Bulls game.
