During this heated climate of politics and debate, the one thing cutting through the din are the lovable losers, the Chicago Cubs. America's Sweetheart of a Team.

They finally did it. They won.

On my facebook post last night I titled this "No words, Just tears"

The words I DO have are for those who are no longer here with us, who were fans. My dad and my grandmother....while they were unable to watch on network TV (at least they didn't have to listen to Joe Buck!) I am sure somewhere they know. The Cubs win brought me closer to them. I thought of them a little more during the series, wondering what they would be doing or saying. Would they be covering their eyes (like me) pacing the floor (like me) walking away when I couldn't watch or listen (like me) or drinking too much beer because your throat gets dry from screaming so much (like me)? Regardless, it was a wild ride and I am hoping to share it again with them .... next year.
